Mural created by Young People
The HYLS recognised the need to make workspace and offices a more youth friendly place to be. In line with the ‘Lundy Model’, staff at HYLS wanted a youth focused project where it would incorporate the four pillars: space, voice, audience and influence. The young people involved throughout the project were sharing their ideas and engaged in each step of the project. They were projecting the ideas up on the intended wall in our office.
With funding sourced from the MSLETB, a spray-painting artist was booked, materials and safety equipment purchased, and risk assessments carried out and Young people involved.
Young people have an interest in art and carried out the tasks needed. Along with input from HYLS staff, the artist, and the Young people, areas in which HYLS covers as a service were represented on the mural and the activities they enjoy when working with staff of HYLS
